MINNEAPOLIS - Augsburg University defeated visiting St. Olaf 5-1 in a MIAC men's hockey game on Friday night.
The Auggies raced to a 3-0 lead before
Kyle Rimbach scored at 8:35 of the second period to get the Oles within two. Augsburg responded with its second power play goal of the night with one second left in the period to make it 4-1.
Eric Brenk scored twice while Drew Anderson and Luke Dietsch had a goal and an assist each for the Auggies (14-6-0, 8-3-0 MIAC).
St. Olaf (6-9-2, 3-5-1 MIAC) was 0-for-7 on the power play while the Auggies were 2-for-6.
The teams meet in the series finale on Saturday at Northfield Ice Arena at 7:30 p.m.
