Robert Tobroxen had 19 points as St. Olaf rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat Carleton College 81-74 in an MIAC men's basketball game on Monday night at Skoglund Center.
Nate Albers added 16 points, and
Austin Korba 15 and eight assists for St. Olaf in the win.
Kent Hanson had 20 points, Matthew Stritzel 18 and Kevin Grow 13 and 11 rebounds for Carleton (10-8, 8-5 MIAC) in the loss. The Knights went 8-for-11 from three-point range in the first half, but only 3-for-10 in the second.
The Oles (14-5, 10-4 MIAC) trailed by as many as nine in the first half before using a 14-6 run in the second half to take a one-point lead with 13:27 left.
St. Olaf was 32-of-60 (53.3 percent) from the field, making at least 50 percent from the floor for the third time in the last four games.
The Oles have won five in a row and are in sole possession of second place with a tough stretch of six games remaining. On Wednesday, St. Olaf hosts Bethel University (14-5, 9-5 MIAC) before a visit from first place and sixth-ranked Saint John's (17-1, 13-0 MIAC) on Saturday. The Oles play three of their last four on the road.
