Robert Tobroxen had a career-high 30 points and
Troy Diggins Jr. had 13 points, including the go-ahead layup with 3.7 seconds left as St. Olaf defeated Bethel 83-82 in a MIAC men's basketball game on Wednesday night at the Robertson Center.
Diggins scored on an assist from Tobroxen in the paint and was fouled on the play. He missed the ensuing free throw and Tobroxen grabbed the rebound to secure the St. Olaf (8-3, 4-2 MIAC) victory.
Austin Korba added 15 points and three assists for the Oles, who trailed 74-66 with 6:14 to play. Tobroxen nailed a three-pointer, his fourth of the game, with 32 seconds left to give the Oles a 81-80 lead.
BU (8-3, 3-3 MIAC) regained the advantage on a pair of Derek Magnuson free throws with 18 seconds left to set up the Diggins Jr. heroics. Magnuson had 14 points as one of five Royals in double figures. Jack Jenson had a team-best 18 points and game-high five assists, while Bridgeport Tusler had 17 and Matt Ambriz 14.Â
The Oles matched a season-low seven turnovers to go with 13 assists and held a 20-7 advantage in bench points. There were 21 lead changes in the game.Â
