MANKATO, Minn. – Junior
Johanna Glaaser posted the third-fastest time in school history in the 400 meters to highlight the St. Olaf College women's track & field team's first meet of the indoor season at the Chuck Peterson Open & Multi at Myers Field House.
Glaaser's time of 58.60 in the 400-meter finals trailed only the times of
Abby Stets (58.20, 2017) and Megan Daymont (58.32, 2003) as the fastest indoor times in the event by an Ole. The junior clocked in with the fastest time in the country in Division III this season, finishing third in the event behind a pair of competitors from Division II Winona State University.
The Oles accumulated 78 points in the team standings, finishing third in the 14-team field behind host Minnesota State and Winona State.
St. Olaf had six of the top-10 finishers in the mile, including four of the top five. Sophomore
Jena Hauch won the event with a time of 5:26.83. Sophomore
Holly Gordon (third, 5:56.83), sophomore
Ellen Kemp (fourth, 5:56.98) and senior
Katie Spray (fifth, 6:00.40) were also in the top-five finishers. Senior
Kathryn York placed seventh (6:05.68) and sophomore
Rebekah Crail was 10th (6:57.75).
In the 800 meters, the Oles had three top-10 showings, led by first year
Lucia Ranallo's fifth-place finish (2:40.60). Fellow first year Liv Gossard came in eighth (2:49.26), while junior
Emily Bohlig was 10th (2:55.51).
Senior
Hayli Marquette placed eighth (1:50.63) in the 600 meters for St. Olaf. The Oles also got top-20 results from first year
Ann Jansen (19th, 27.88) and junior
Mackenzie Schoustra (20th, 28.13) in the 200-meter finals.
Oles made up the entire 11-runner field in the 3,000 meters finals. Junior
Lisa Fisher won the event (10:33.27), followed by first year
Ellen Mickelson (second, 11:00.89), sophomore
Lauren Markowski (third, 11:01.40), junior
Meredith Moore (fourth, 11:03.53) and senior
Lauren Herland (fifth, 11:21.45).
In the high jump finals, Schoustra placed in a tie for 10th with a distance of 1.52 meters (4' 11.75"). Bohlig was two places behind Schoustra in 14th (1.47m, 4' 9.75").
In the long jump finals, St. Olaf had a trio of top-20 finishes, led by Jansen's 15th-place showing (4.56m, 14' 11.5"). Sophomore
Jazmin Sunderland placed 19th (4.21m, 13' 9.75") while first year Kayla LaRue was 20th (4.17m, 13' 8.25").
Sophomore
Paige Woldt led the way for the Oles in the triple jump, coming in 10th (9.98m, 32' 9"), while LaRue recorded a 14th-place finish (8.74m, 28' 8.25"). Junior
Kristen Diederichs was 20th in the shot put (10.02m, 32' 10.5").
St. Olaf returns to action in the New Year at the Tommie Opener on Friday, Jan. 11 in St. Paul.
