ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sophomore
Jena Hauch won the 800-meter run and was part of the winning 4x400-meter relay, as the St. Olaf College women's track & field team competed at the Tommie Opener on Friday.
Hauch won the 800 with a time of 2:25.17, finishing over two-and-a-half seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. She also was the anchor leg of the first-place 4x400-meter relay, along with junior
Mackenzie Schoustra, sophomore
Katie Elstad and first year
Ann Jansen, which finished in 4:11.85, the 26th-fastest time in Division III this season.
Senior
Hayli Marquette ran a career-best time in the 600-meter run, placing third overall (1:49.08).
Schoustra posted third-place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles (9.73) and long jump (5.16m), while also coming in seventh in the high jump (1.53m).
Sophomore
Paige Woldt recorded a fourth-place showing in the triple jump (10.41m).
In the 3,000-meter run, St. Olaf paced four of the top-10 finishers, led by junior
Meredith Moore in fifth (11:05.23). First year
Ellen Mickelson (eighth, 11:17.28), senior
Lauren Herland (ninth, 11:20.66) and sophomore
Holly Gordon (10th, 11:39.57) were also in the top 10.
The Oles also got seventh-place performances from Jansen in the long jump (4.80m) and junior
Kristen Diederichs in the shot put (9.94m).
Sophomore
Tayler Paulsen (ninth, 5:55.74) and senior
Katie Murney (10th, 5:55.84) were separated by just a tenth of a second in the mile run, with both runners placing in the top 10.
Junior
Laura Kammer added a top-10 finish in the 200-meter dash, coming in 10th (29.11).
St. Olaf competes against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foes Carleton College and Hamline University on Friday, Jan. 18 at Carleton.
