NORTHFIELD, Minn. – No. 9 Luther College scored once in the first half and twice in the second to defeat the St. Olaf College men's soccer team, 3-0, in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field.
Joao Pedruzzi scored the lone goal of the opening half for Luther (12-3-1) before Ben Keller and Ben Sizelove added second-half goals for the visitors. St. Olaf (8-7-0) was looking for its first win against a top-10 opponent since a 2-1 win at No. 8 Gustavus Adolphus on Sept. 14, 2011.

In the 56th minute, St. Olaf nearly got one of the goals back, but first year

Keith Loukas from the right side.
Sizelove stretched Luther's lead to 3-0 in the 78th minute, tapping in a cross from Will Overberg in front of the goal. Junior
Jacob Stauffer came close to getting the Oles on the board shortly after Sizelove's goal, but Carson Davenport leapt to parry Stauffer's drive from near the top of the box out for a corner.
St. Olaf returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play on Saturday, Oct. 26 when Bethel visits Rolf Mellby Field for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
