Johanna Glaaser and senior
Makenna Ash went 1-2 in the 400-meter dash and junior
Bryony Hawgood won the 10,000-meter run, as the St. Olaf College women's track and field team finished fifth at the Carleton Relays on Saturday at Laird Stadium.
Glaaser and Ash both set personal-best times in taking the top-two spots in the 400, with Glaaser finishing in 57.78 seconds, followed by Ash in 58.65 seconds. In her first track meet of the season, Hawgood set a PR by over 30 seconds in the 10,000-meter run, winning the event in 38:34.00.
With a small contingent of competitors, St. Olaf finished fifth in the team standings with 52 points. Gustavus Adolphus won the team title with 213.50 points, followed by host Carleton in second with 124 and Hamline with 117.
Sophomore
Erica Meyers placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:13.94, while senior
Lori Erlandson was seventh in the event (1:14.06). Erlandson also placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.73).
Junior
Laura Kammer posted a pair of top-seven finishes, taking fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.26) and seventh in the 100-meter dash (13.53).
Junior
Emily Bohlig tallied three top-eight performances, placing fifth in the 200-meter dash (28.56), seventh in the high jump (1.42m, 4' 7.75") and eighth in the javelin throw (28.78m, 94' 5").
First years
Kierra Carter and Kayla LaRue finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the triple jump. Carter jumped 8.68 meters (28' 5.75"), while LaRue jumped 8.48 meters (27' 10").
