MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's track and field team recorded 14 top-10 performances at the University of Minnesota Women's Twilight Meet on Wednesday at the first-ever meet at Minnesota Track & Field Stadium.
Junior
Johanna Glaaser moved into fourth place on St. Olaf's all-time list in the 400-meter dash with a new personal-best time of 57.59, the second-best time in the MIAC this season, to finish third in the event. Senior
Makenna Ash finished fourth in 58.20 seconds, tied for the eighth-fastest time in program history and the fourth-fastest time in the MIAC. Sophomore
Jena Hauch was eighth (1:01.29) with the 11th-quickest time in the conference to date.
Senior
Daisy Richmond match Glaaser for the top individual finish of the meet for St. Olaf with a third-place showing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:21.70). The 4x100-meter relay of Hauch,
Stephanie Balas, Ash and
Megan Grimes also took third (4:15.96).
Senior
Kelsey Weed produced a fourth-place finish in the javelin throw (35.03m, 114' 11"), the fifth-best throw in the MIAC this spring, while junior
Emily Bohlig placed 10th (28.198m, 92' 6").
Sophomore
Paige Woldt and junior
Laura Kammer finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 100-meter hurdles. Kammer set a PR in the preliminaries with a time of 16.05 seconds, the fifth-fastest time in the MIAC this season, before finishing sixth (16.56), while Woldt was one spot ahead of Kammer in fifth in the finals (16.29).
Woldt recorded another top-10 finish in the triple jump, taking eighth (10.04m, 32' 11.25"), and was joined in the top 10 by first year Kayla LaRue in 10th (8.79m, 28' 10.25").
Other top-10 performances came from Balas in the 800-meter run (ninth, 2:22.32),
Lisa Fisher in the 1,500-meter run (eighth, 4:54.66) and
Lori Erlandson in the 400-meter hurdles (seventh, 1:14.98). Fisher's time in the 1,500 meters was the fifth-fastest in the MIAC this season.
St. Olaf returns to the Twin Cities on Saturday, Apr. 27 for the Janie Rider Invitational at Macalester College.
