NORTHFIELD, Minn. – First year
Ellie Pahl posted top-10 marks in program history in both the shot put and weight throw to lead the St. Olaf College women's track & field team's performances in a fourth-place team finish at Friday's St. Olaf Quad at Tostrud Center Fieldhouse.
Entering the meet, Pahl already held the second-best mark in program history in the shot put, but she bettered that mark with a throw of 12.87 meters to finished second in the event. Competing in the weight throw for the first time, Pahl's throw of 11.78 meters was good for fifth in the event and 10th on St. Olaf's all-time list.
Senior
Laura Kammer moved up one spot to fourth in program history in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing second in 9.33 seconds to establish a new PR in the event, while first year
Rebekah Salfer moved moved up from eighth to sixth courtesy of her fifth-place finish in 9.42 seconds.
Salfer also set a PR in the long jump on her way to a fourth-place finish with a jump of 5.01 meters. Fellow first year
Annika Muller took third in the long jump with a PR of 5.15 meters and now sits eighth in program history in the event.
St. Olaf got fourth-place finishes from first year
Sophia Gossard in the 1,000 meters (3:38.90) and junior
Holly Gordon in the 5,000 meters (20:46.07), with Gossard's time serving as a personal best.
Junior
Katie Elstad and senior
Lisa Fisher provided fifth-place showings in the 600 meters (1:46.46) and 3,000 meters (10:48.18), respectively. Elstad's time in the 600 meters was the best of her career.
St. Olaf sends a few student-athletes to compete at the Mark Schuck Multi in Mankato on Friday, Jan. 31.
