MANKATO, Minn. – Seniors Mackenzie Schoustra and Emily Bohlig, as well as first year Rebekah Salfer, of the St. Olaf College women's track & field team competed in the pentathlon at the Mark Schuck Multi on Friday at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Schoustra finished third with a score of 3,248 points, Bohlig was sixth (3,024) and Salfer placed 10th (2,789). Schoustra's score currently ranks ninth in NCAA Division III this season, while Bohlig (12th) and Salfer (18th) also rank in the top 20.

Schoustra posted a pair of second-place finishes among the five events, finishing as the runner-up in the high jump (1.63m) and 800 meters (2:32.07), tying her PR in the high jump in the process. The lone competitors to place ahead of Schoustra were Olivia Montez Brown and Elizabeth Schaefer of NCAA Division II Augustana (S.D.). 

Bohlig's score of 3,024 points was the best pentathlon score of her career, moving her up two spots from eighth to sixth on St. Olaf's all-time list in the event. Bohlig recorded three top-five finishes on the day, taking third in the shot put (10.15m), tying for fourth in the high jump (1.54m) and placing fifth in the long jump (4.83m). Her throw of 10.15 meters in the shot put was a PR for the senior.

Competing in her first collegiate pentathlon, Salfer's top event finish was in the 800 meters where she was seventh (2:36.51) and she registered a PR in the shot put (8.66m).

Sophomore Ellen Mickelson represents St. Olaf as the team's lone competitor at the Gene Glader Classic on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Oles are next in action as a team at the Ted Nelson Classic in Mankato on Saturday, Feb. 8.
