ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Sophomore Ellen Mickelson of the St. Olaf College women's track & field team won the mile run at the Gene Glader Classic on Saturday afternoon at Bethel University's Sports and Recreation Center.

Mickelson posted a time of 5:26.73 to win the event by nearly nine seconds in the field of 21 runners. The sophomore's time was just over 11 seconds faster than her time earlier this month at the Minnesota Open on Jan. 11.

Mickelson was the lone Ole to compete in the event, as the rest of the team returns to action at the Ted Nelson Classic in Mankato next Saturday, Feb. 8.
