VIRGINIA, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's tennis team made it back-to-back wins over the weekend with a 6-3 non-conference victory over the College of St. Scholastica on Sunday afternoon at Virginia Tennis Center.

After picking up a 7-2 victory over Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foe Hamline University on Saturday, St. Olaf (3-2) won its second match in as many days by defeating St. Scholastica (2-3) in the first meeting between the two programs in over four years.

For the second day in a row, the Oles put the first two points on the board in doubles, getting an 8-3 win from Ethan Bruha and Tony Klagge at No. 3 doubles and an 8-5 victory from Spencer Wick and Henry Smith at No. 1 doubles. The Saints won a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles to take one point into singles.

Michael Yousef provided the first singles point of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles for his third win in four matches. St. Scholastica got victories from Elliot Schneider and Riley Versich at No. 1 and No. 6 singles, respectively, to knot the team score at 3-3 before the Oles won the final three matches on court.

With the score tied up, Klagge put St. Olaf back on top by rallying from a set down for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-4 victory at No. 5 singles and Smith wrapped up the win with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles. Bruha completed the 6-3 scoreline by coming back after dropping the first set for a 1-6, 6-1, 10-7 triumph at No. 4 singles.

Bruha's pair of wins completed a 4-0 weekend for the junior in singles and doubles, while Yousef and Smith both closed the weekend with three wins in four matches.

The Oles travel to face the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Thursday, April 8 at 4 p.m.
