NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Senior
Paige Woldt broke the school record in the triple jump, as the St. Olaf College women's track and field team began its season by winning its home St. Olaf Women's Invitational on Saturday at Manitou Track.
Woldt established a new program record in the triple jump with a winning mark of 11.53 meters (37' 10") to break the previous record of 11.39 meters set by All-American Joy Quaidoo in 1994. The mark is also the eighth-best in NCAA Division III this season.
The meet was St. Olaf's first as an entire team in 406 days dating back to the 2020 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Indoor Championships. It was also the Oles' first home outdoor meet since April 18, 2019 – a span of 723 days.
Woldt's win in the triple jump was one of eight event wins for St. Olaf, which compiled 274.5 points in the team standings. Carleton was second with 134.5, followed by Macalester with 120.
In her first collegiate meet,
Aleah Keske won the shot put (12.77m), discus (42.31m), and hammer throw (33.64m). Keske's marks in the shot put and discus were both good for fourth on St. Olaf's all-time list in those respective events, while the discus mark is fifth-best in the country this season.
Fellow first-year thrower
Sam Hedtke was the runner-up to Keske in the shot put (11.49m) and discus (37.71m), with her mark in the discus moving Hedtke into a tie for ninth in program history. Sophomore
Teresa Pettitt-Kenney also moved into the top-10 list in the pole vault, finishing second by clearing 3.05 meters to tie for seventh in program history.
