NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Playing its first home outdoor match in nearly two years, the St. Olaf College men's tennis team fell 9-0 to visiting Carleton College on Wednesday afternoon at Carlson Courts.
The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for St. Olaf (4-3, 2-3 MIAC), which played its last on-campus outdoor match against the Knights on April 16, 2019. Carleton (1-0, 1-0 MIAC) was playing its first match of the season.
In doubles, the Knights earned victories by scores of 8-2 and 8-3 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively, before the No. 3 doubles match went all the way to a tiebreaker.

Ethan Bruha got a late break to get back on serve in the set before falling in the tiebreaker by a 7-4 margin.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets. The closest score line of the afternoon came at No. 3 singles, where Bruha extended the first set into a tiebreaker but eventually fell 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.
Playing one of the top players in the country,
Spencer Wick put five games on the board in a 6-1, 6-4 loss to three-time All-American Leo Vithoontien at No. 1 singles.
Michael Yousef won six games in his No. 2 singles match against Xander Roti, falling 6-4, 6-2.
St. Olaf will try to bounce back when the Oles head to Macalester on Thursday, April 15 for a 5 p.m. match.
