NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's track and field team posted five first-place finishes and seven runner-up results at the Meet of the Saints on Friday afternoon at Manitou Track.
St. Olaf posted 1-2 finishes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, triple jump, and shot put to highlight the afternoon. No team scores were kept in the meet.
Senior
Tayler Paulsen won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:46.81, which was good for second in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) this season and was a PR by over 30 seconds. First year
Bailey VanderWilde was the runner-up in 12:10.73.
St. Olaf's other event win on the track came from junior
Samantha Posey in the 800 meters, as she clocked in at 2:25.33 to set a new PR by nearly 15 seconds.
First years
Aleah Keske and
Sam Hedtke went 1-2 in the shot put. Keske won the event with a throw of 12.54 meters (41' 1 ¾"), followed by Hedtke's toss of 11.40 meters (37' 5"). Keske was also second in the discus throw (38.24m, 125' 5").
Senior
Paige Woldt and sophomore
Annika Muller were the top-two finishers in the triple jump, with Woldt posting the top jump of the day at 11.44 meters (37' 6 ½"). In the first outdoor meet of her career, Muller broke into St. Olaf's all-time top-10 list in the event with a second-place jump of 10.95 meters (35' 11 ¼").
In the pole vault, first year
Melanie Roberts was one of four to clear 2.82 meters (9' 3") to tie for first in the event.
Woldt added a second-place finish in the long jump (5.12 meters, 16' 9 ¾"), while first year
Julia Everest was the runner-up in the 1,500 meters (5:06.77).
St. Olaf's 4x400-meter relay of
Jena Hauch,
Riley Mauzer,
Lauren Johnson, and
Lucia Wyland took second with a time of 4:24.94.
The Oles head to Macalester for the Janis Rider Invitational on Saturday, May 1 in St. Paul.
