NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's track and field team won nine events in its final meet before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Ole Open on Saturday at Manitou Track.
St. Olaf won five events on the track and four field events in the unscored meet, led by sophomore
Ainslee Parker, who win both the long jump (5.02m) and triple jump (10.96m). The sophomore's mark in the triple jump ranks seventh in the MIAC this season and moved her up two spots to seventh on the program's all-time list in the event.
After the meet, the Oles celebrated their senior class on the track in recognition of the final home meet of their careers.
Junior
Christine Albrecht won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:06.37, which ranks sixth in the conference this season. First year
Sofia Carlson led a field of nine Oles in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:14.73.
Sophomore
Olivia Edstrom and junior
Teresa Pettitt-Kenney both won individual events and were part of St. Olaf's first-place 4x400-meter relay (4:07.76), along with sophomore
Karla Kroschel and senior
Erica Meyers. Edstrom finished first in the 400-meter dash (1:00.19), while Pettitt-Kenney had the top clearance in the pole vault (3.43m).
Sophomore
Aleah Keske recorded the MIAC's seventh-best throw in the discus this season, winning the event with a mark of 38.69 meters. Junior
Sophie Gossard also picked up a first-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (5:20.19).
The 2022 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14 at Saint Mary's University in Winona.
