Swim/dive teams again honored with CSCAA Scholar All-America Team awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's swimming and diving teams both received the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team award for the 14th consecutive semester on Tuesday.

Head coach Bob Hauck's men's and women's teams were among 731 teams from 441 institutions across the country to earn the award, which is awarded to teams with a team GPA of at least 3.00. This past semester, the St. Olaf women's team recorded its second-highest GPA (3.52) during its streak of 17-straight CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors, while the men compiled their third-highest GPA (3.54) over the last 14 semesters.

Tuesday's announcement came a day after a combined 28 Ole swimmers and divers earned Academic All-Conference honors from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Fifteen members of the two teams were part of St. Olaf's inaugural class of inductees into Chi Alpha Sigma – the national collegiate student-athlete honor society – this spring as well.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
