MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Four members of the St. Olaf College women's track and field team competed at the M City Indoor Classic on Friday at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.
Senior
Karla Kroschel and sophomore
Grace Moeller both recorded runner-up finishes to highlight the day for St. Olaf. Kroschel was second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.21, while Moeller took second in the 1,000-meter run in 3:04.77.
Fifth-year senior
Rebekah Salfer competed in the pentathlon and placed 13th with 2,538 points, highlighted b ya fight-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:30.02). Salfer did not receive any points in the long jump after fouling on each of her three attempts.
Kroschel also ran in the 60-meter dash and qualified for the finals with an eighth-place time of 8.12 seconds in the prelims but scratched in the final. Sophomore
Claire Keech was ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 10.48 seconds. Keech ran a time of 10.39 seconds in the prelims to grab the final qualifying spot for the final.
The meet was the final competition of 2023 for the Oles, who are back in action at the Bearson/Gathje Classic in Mankato on Friday, Jan. 12.
