OWATONNA, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's tennis team made it two Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) victories in as many days with a 7-2 win over Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday afternoon at West Hills Tennis and Fitness Center.
After blanking Hamline University on Friday at home, St. Olaf (6-11, 3-5 MIAC) recorded back-to-back wins for the second time this season by defeating Concordia (2-11, 8-0 MIAC) for the 15th time in the last 16 meetings dating back to 2008. First year

Ben Anderson all picked up their second victories in a row to give St. Olaf a sweep. Vizoli and Smith moved to 3-2 in conference play with an 8-6 triumph atop the lineup, Loesch and Kruse cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles, and Johnson and Anderson claimed an 8-4 win at the third spot.
All four of the Oles' singles victories came in straight sets, while the Cobbers won both of the matches to go to a super tiebreaker. Vizoli ran his record to a team-best 6-2 in MIAC play and earned his team-leading ninth win of the season with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles over Logan Sandberg, who entered the match at 5-2 in conference play.
Kruse improved to 5-2 in MIAC singles matches by registering a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles, while Johnson dropped just two games in his 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles. Loesch lost just five games in a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
St. Olaf's home match against UW-Superior scheduled for Sunday, April 16 was canceled due to the forecast for rain/snow, meaning the team's next match is its MIAC finale at Macalester College on Thursday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. in St. Paul.
