BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 non-conference matchup with UW-Eau Claire on Sunday at Bloomington Life Time Fitness.
UW-Eau Claire (2-3) used wins at the top-two doubles spots and the bottom-four singles spots to defeat St. Olaf (1-4) for the 11th time in a row in the series between the two programs. Sophomore

Marjan Veldic picked up straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles in the loss for the Oles.
The Blugolds posted 8-5 victories at the top-two doubles spots to assure themselves of taking a lead into singles, but seniors
Max Loesch and
Jakub Belik cut the Oles' deficit to just 2-1 with a tiebreaker win at No. 3 doubles. Loesch and Belik took the tiebreaker 7-3 for their second victory in as many matches as a pairing this season.
UW-Eau Claire got straight-set wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles to extend its lead to 4-1 before Vizoli and Veldic gave St. Olaf hope with back-to-back wins atop the lineup. Vizoli moved into a tie for the team lead in singles victories this season with five with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Veldic won his second match in a row at No. 2 singles via a 6-2, 6-4 victory one spot below Vizoli.
The Blugolds won the final two singles matches with a straight-set win at No. 5 singles and a super-tiebreaker victory at No. 4 singles.
St. Olaf heads to Waverly, Iowa for non-conference matches against Wartburg College (9:30 a.m.) and Northwestern College (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday, March 16.
