BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Sophomore
Liam Madigan of the St. Olaf College men's basketball team collected his first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Athlete of the Week accolade by being named the MIAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Madigan pulled down 21 rebounds (10.5 per game) to go with three steals and one blocked shot in St. Olaf's two games last week. The sophomore grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds – the fourth-highest total in the conference this season – and had two steals and a block in Saturday's 85-75 overtime win over the University of Northwestern.
The Oles will travel to Decorah, Iowa for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against Luther College on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
