Ryan and Miller honored on AVCA All-America Teams

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Morgan Ryan and junior Maren Miller of the St. Olaf College volleyball team were both honored as part of the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Women's Volleyball All-America Teams, as announced on Wednesday.

Ryan was named a Second Team All-American and Miller was selected as an Honorable Mention All-American as part of the 44th annual AVCA national awards. Wednesday's announcement marked the eighth time in program history St. Olaf has had multiple student-athletes named AVCA All-Americans and brought the program's total to 24 All-Americans all-time.

The lone Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) student-athlete on one the first, second, or third teams, Ryan became the eighth Ole to earn multiple AVCA All-America accolades with her second-team nod. In a year where no liberos made the first team, Ryan was the lone libero on the second team and one of four on the three teams.

In her senior season, Ryan set St. Olaf and the MIAC's single-season digs record with 809 while averaging 5.99 digs per set. She also tallied 162 assists (1.20 per set) and 39 aces (0.29 per set) on her way to AVCA First Team All-Region honors, her second consecutive MIAC Defensive Player of the Year award, her second All-MIAC honor in a row, and a spot on the Bloomington Regional All-Tournament Team. As of Nov. 26, Ryan's 809 digs are the most at any level of NCAA women's volleyball and her 5.99 digs per set rank sixth in NCAA Division III.

Miller landed her first nationwide honor after compiling 254 kills (2.13 per set) and 98 total blocks (0.82 per set) while hitting at a .387 clip in the middle. As of Nov. 26, Miller's attack percentage ranks 10th in NCAA Division III this season and she also ranks in the top 100 in total blocks. The junior also collected All-MIAC and AVCA First Team All-Region honors this year.

In its second season under head coach Alicia Wood, St. Olaf finished the season 27-9 and advanced to the regional semifinals before falling in five sets to second-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University. The Oles won the MIAC regular-season title with a perfect 11-0 record, marking the program's first unbeaten regular season in conference play since 1996.
