Volleyball breaks into AVCA Top 25 in year-end balloting

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team was ranked No. 24 in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Poll of the season, as released on Tuesday.

After receiving votes in nine consecutive polls dating back to late September, St. Olaf (27-9) broke into the top 25 in a tie for 24th in the end-of-season balloting. The national ranking is the first for the Oles since late in the 2019 season.

In its second season under Alicia Wood, St. Olaf went 11-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play for the first time since 1996 on its way to winning its first MIAC regular-season title since 2010. The Oles earned an at-large bid into the
NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship and swept the University of Northwestern in the opening round before falling in five sets to second-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University.
