LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team received votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Poll for the seventh week in a row in the latest balloting announced on Tuesday afternoon.
After clinching at least a share of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) regular-season title during a 2-1 week, St. Olaf (22-7, 10-0 MIAC) gathered a season-high 98 points in this week's poll, sitting two spots outside the top 25. The Oles were also ranked No. 27 in the most recent update to the NCAA Power Index (NPI), which determines the at-large bids into the NCAA Tournament.
Last week, St. Olaf moved to 10-0 in MIAC play and earned at least a share of its first MIAC regular-season title since 2010 with victories over Saint Mary's University and Augsburg University. The Oles saw their 18-match winning streak – the third-longest in program history and the longest since 1996 – snapped with a four-set loss to then-No. 4-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Saturday.
