LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team received votes for the sixth American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Poll, as the most recent balloting was released on Tuesday afternoon.
St. Olaf (20-6, 8-0 MIAC) collected a season-high 96 points in this week's national poll, which was the second-highest total among programs not to be inside the top 25. The Oles also moved up to No. 23 in this week's NCAA Power Index (NPI), which is the metric used to determine the at-large bids for the NCAA Tournament.
Head coach
Alicia Wood's team extended its winning streak to 16 matches – its longest since 1994 – with three more victories last week. The Oles secured a spot in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs for the eighth season in a row with a four-set victory at the College of Saint Benedict and a sweep of St. Catherine University, while also sweeping UW-Stevens Point last week.
The Oles will hit the road to face Saint Mary's University on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. before hosting Augsburg University (5 p.m.) and fourth-ranked UW-Eau Claire (7 p.m.) on Saturday, Nov. 1.
