Volleyball receives votes for fifth week in a row in AVCA poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team received votes for the fifth week in a row in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Poll, as released on Tuesday afternoon.

St. Olaf (17-6, 6-0 MIAC) continued to inch closer to breaking into the top 25 by collecting a season-high 58 points in this week's balloting. The 59 points were the fourth-highest total among the 15 programs to receive votes that were outside of the top 25 this week.

Last week, the Oles recorded four-set victories over Macalester College and UW-Stout to extend their winning streak to 13 matches, which is the program's longest since a string of 15 victories in a row from Sept. 18 through Oct. 21, 2009.

St. Olaf will begin its three-match weekend with a 7 p.m. match at the College of Saint Benedict on Friday, Oct. 24.
