Women's track and field gathers three USTFCCCA All-Region accolades

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Junior Isabel Wyatt, senior Alison Bode, and the St. Olaf College women's track and field team's distance medley relay all were recognized with U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-North Region honors, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Wyatt and Bode earned all-region honors in the 800-meter run and 3,000-meter run, respectively, by ranking in the top five in the North Region in those events this indoor season. St. Olaf's DMR of junior Megan Timmerman, senior Emma Storbakken, sophomore Molly DiNardo, and senior Sophie Abernethy also picked up all-region honors by ranking in the top three relays in the region.

A USTFCCCA All-North Region honoree in cross country this fall, Wyatt secured her first all-region accolade in track and field after posting the region's top time in the 800-meter run (2:12.03), doing so at the Snowshoe Open on Feb. 21. The junior, who was the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) champion in the event, will compete in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships later this week.

Bode collected her fourth USTFCCCA All-Region honor in track and field – her sixth overall when including cross country – in the 3,000-meter run after running the region's fifth-fastest time (9:57.99) at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. That time ranks No. 3 on St. Olaf's all-time indoor list in the event. The honor was the first all-region accolade of Bode's career in the 3,000-meter run.

Timmerman, Storbakken, DiNardo, and Abernethy clocked in with the North Region's top time in the DMR this season with their winning time of 12:30.19 at the MIAC Indoor Championships. All four Oles landed their first all-region accolades in track and field as part of the relay.

Wyatt will run in the prelims of the 800-meter run at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, March 14 at Golisano Training Center in Rochester, N.Y.
