GREENWOOD, Ind. – Eight members of the St. Olaf College men's and women's tennis teams were honored on the 2024-25 Academic All-District ® Men's and Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), earlier this week.
Sophomore
Ryan Birnesser, sophomore
Cathal Mee, sophomore
Marjan Veldic, and junior
Bogdan Vizoli were the four honorees from the men's team, while junior
Alexandra Berns, senior
Sarah Clark, senior
Jane Spading, and senior
Olha Zubarieva represented the women's team. The CSC Academic All-District ® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
In order to be eligible for the accolade, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must hold a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50, and must have been in their team's lineup for 70 percent of the team's scored matches.
Zubarieva and Clark earned Academic All-District ® honors for the third season in a row, while Vizoli, Berns, and Spading did so for the second consecutive year. Birnesser, Mee, and Veldic were in their first years of eligibility for the accolade.
Vizoli advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ® ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America ® honorees will be announced on June 4.
