St. Olaf places third overall in 2024-25 MIAC All-Sports Competition

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – St. Olaf College finished third overall in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) All-Sports Competition for the 2024-25 academic year, as the conference announced the final standings earlier this week.

St. Olaf finished third in the women's standings with 83.5 points and fourth in the men's standings with 74.5 points to accumulate 158 points between the two competitions. The 158 points trailed only Gustavus Adolphus College (187.5) and Bethel University (166) among the conference's membership.

The MIAC All-Sports Competition takes a comprehensive look at each institution's performance within the Conference to award an overall champion for each gender. The men's competition began in 1963-64, with the women's competition being added in 1983-84. Starting in the 2003-2004 season, first-place points were ruled to be determined by the number of teams participating in each sport. Second-place, third-place, et cetera, receive points in descending order, based on the first-place point total. Ties in the standings result in the two teams tied sharing the points equally for all tied spots in the standings.

St. Olaf's women's teams recorded three top-three finishes this academic year, highlighted by women's cross country's MIAC title in the fall. St. Olaf also finished second in indoor track and field and third in softball during the regular season.

St. Olaf's men's soccer and men's cross country teams both won MIAC titles in the fall to pace four top-three finishes for the Oles this year. Men's track and field also placed second indoors and third outdoors.
