Men's soccer stays in top three in United Soccer Coaches rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The St. Olaf College men's soccer team was ranked No. 3 in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Rankings, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.

One of six unbeaten teams in NCAA Division III this season, St. Olaf (13-0-2) dropped one spot to No. 3 after tying UW-Superior and defeating Macalester College last week. The Oles have been ranked in the top three of the poll all season and have been in the top five for 12 consecutive polls dating back to this time last year.

Head coach Justin Oliver's team remained at No. 6 to start the week in the NCAA Power Index (NPI), which is the metric used to evaluate teams and form the field for the NCAA Tournament. The Oles currently rank fifth in NCAA Division III in corner kicks per game (8.00), sixth in goal differential (+32), ninth in assists (40), 10th in points (122), 13th in points per game (8.13), 15th in goals (41), 15th in goals-against average (0.600), 22nd in save percentage (0.833), and 22nd in scoring offense (2.73).

St. Olaf will face No. 22-ranked Saint John's University at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Rolf Mellby Field.
