BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Junior
Jack Soares of the third-ranked St. Olaf College men's soccer team was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Soares earned the first MIAC Athlete of the Week accolade of his career after recording five goals and one assist in the Oles' three-win week that moved St. Olaf to 6-0-0 on the season. The junior scored in all three games, including netting a hat trick in Friday's victory over Bethany Lutheran College. He also had a goal and an assist on Tuesday against Carroll University and added another goal in a 2-0 win at Carthage College on Sunday.
St. Olaf will start MIAC play with a 3:30 p.m. home kickoff against Saint Mary's University on Saturday, Sept. 19.
