BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Junior
Beckett Carlson of the third-ranked St. Olaf College men's soccer team was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.
Carlson earned the accolade for the second time in his career after going 3-0-0 with a pair of shutouts and a 0.33 goals-against average in St. Olaf's three-win week to start the season. He was previously named the MIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2, 2025.
Carlson stopped 10 of the 11 shots on goal he faced last week, including totaling seven saves in back-to-back 1-0 shutouts of the No. 20-ranked University of Chicago and Edgewood University, which both qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season.
The Oles will host Carroll University in a 3 p.m. kickoff at Rolf Mellby Field on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
