St. Paul, Minn. - Three athletes for the St. Olaf men's track and field team opened the season at the Northwest Open hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.

Paul Timm began the season with the 3K, where he ran a time of 9:20.82 to finish fourth.  Jackson Simon and Alec Kirtley began the season with the mile, running times of 4:32.12 and 4:33.40 respectively.

The rest of the St. Olaf team will compete first in 2018 at the Tommie Opener next Friday.
