NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's basketball program and 13th-year head coach
Dave Stromme officially announced the team's 2019-20 schedule on Thursday afternoon.
The 25-game schedule features 15 road games and 10 home games. Outside of its 20 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) contests, St. Olaf will take on four Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponents and one American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) program.
The Oles open the season with six consecutive road games, starting with the season opener at Bethany Lutheran on Saturday, Nov. 9, which is followed by another matchup with a UMAC opponent, North Central (Minn.), the following Tuesday.
After that, St. Olaf travels to the Quinlivan & Hughes Tip-Off Tournament at Saint Benedict on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16, where the Oles will face Buena Vista and Minnesota Morris.
St. Olaf's non-conference slate concludes against Crown on Tuesday, Nov. 19 before the Oles open MIAC play at Saint Mary's (Minn.) five days later. The Oles wrap up November by hosting Bethel in their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 26 after spending the first three weeks on the road.
In December, St. Olaf is on the road for two of its three games of the month, visiting Augsburg and Hamline on either side of a home game against St. Kate's on Monday, Dec. 9.
After starting the month on the road at Gustavus, the Oles have five home games in January, beginning with matchups against St. Thomas (Jan. 8) and crosstown rival Carleton (Jan. 11). After two MIAC road games, St. Olaf hosts Augsburg (Jan. 22), Saint Mary's (Jan. 25) and Hamline (Jan. 29) to end the month and complete their regular-season meetings with those schools.
In February, St. Olaf hosts three games and is on the road for four. Following a trip to St. Kate's to start the month, the Oles host Saint Benedict (Feb. 5) and Gustavus (Feb. 8) prior to three-straight road games at Concordia (Feb. 12), Carleton (Feb. 15) and St. Thomas. St. Olaf closes out regular-season play on Saturday, Feb. 22 against Macalester.
The Oles return 11 student-athletes from last season's roster and add six first years to the mix.
