ST. PAUL, Minn. –
Thomas Lerdall led the St. Olaf College men's track and field team as he tallied a first-place finish in the 1-mile, while
Katie Murney and
Rachael Bentley recorded career-best times in the 1-mile to lead the St. Olaf College women's track and field team at the Hamster Invitational in Leonard Center.
Lerdall tallied a time of 4:29.72 in the 1-mile, followed by Elliot Cassidy (4:34.82) in third and
Lukas Lindgren (4:38.47) in fifth. Murney posted a career-best 5:51.77 in the 1-mile and finished 11th, while Bentley followed in 19th with a time of 6:23.73.
Zach Herman competed in the 600-meter run and finished fourth with a time of 1:26.59, and
William Anderson (2:35.69) finished second in the 1000-meter run followed by
Jack Henschel (2:39.58) in fifth.
In the 200-meter dash,
Maya Gitch tallied a seventh-place finish with a time of 29.83.
Kierra Carter competed in the triple jump and the long jump for the Oles. In the triple jump, Carter posted a second-place finish with a distance of 8.57m and in the long jump she registered a distance of 4.03m and placed eighth.
St. Olaf is back to action on Friday, Feb. 8, as the men's and women's track and field teams head to St. Paul for the Tommie Showase.
