K'Lynn Lewis of the St. Olaf College women's basketball team were named in the 2018-19 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Basketball Awards, as announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
After twice being an Honorable Mention All-MIAC choice, Ash earned All-MIAC honors, while Lewis was named the conference's Co-Rookie of the Year and earned Honorable Mention All-MIAC honors, as well as a spot on the All-First Year Team. Junior
Keegan Mulvihill was St. Olaf's representative on the MIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
Ash nabbed all-conference recognition after averaging a double-double of 12.6 points and 13.6 rebounds per game for St. Olaf. The senior's 13.6 rebounds per game lead the MIAC by over three rebounds per game and rank eighth in NCAA Division III this season. Her 17 double-doubles are 11th-most in the country.
The Ellison Bay, Wis. native ranks 11th in the country in total rebounds (326), which is tied for the most in a season in program history. She became St. Olaf's all-time leading rebounder on Jan. 26, 2019 against St. Catherine and finished her career with 841 rebounds.
Lewis shared MIAC Rookie of the Year honors with Brooklyn Paulson of Saint Mary's (Minn.) after averaging 13.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. She recorded 344 points this season, which ranks eighth on the single-season scoring list at St. Olaf.
In her rookie season, Lewis ranks 10th in the conference in points and points per game over the course of the season. She reached double figures in 20 games this season, including three 20-plus-point games for the Oles, while leading St. Olaf in scoring and assists.
Mulvihill played in 24 games and started in 23, averaging 9.9 points per game, along with 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists. She led the team in steals per game at 2.3, which was good for 11th in the MIAC.
