Glaaser, Schoustra wrap up seasons at NCAA Division III Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Mackenzie Schoustra finished 16th in the pentathlon and classmate Johanna Glaaser was 14th in the 400-meter run, as the St. Olaf College track & field duo competed on day one of the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Glaaser set a PR in the 400-meter run (57.92), while Schoustra established a new personal-best in the shot put as part of the pentathlon. Both Oles were competing in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships for the first time in their careers.

In the 400, Glaaser placed third in her heat, with her time of 57.92 being .02 faster than her performance at last week's last chance qualifier. The top-eight overall times from the five heats qualified for Saturday's event final.

Schoustra's best event of the day was the shot put, where the junior set a new PR of 10.33 meters to place eighth. In the other four events, she was 11th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.44), tied for 12th in the high jump (1.53m), tied for 13th in the 800-meter run (2:34.38) and 18th in the long jump (4.79m).
