BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – For the second consecutive week, sophomore
Selena Rodriguez of the St. Olaf College volleyball team was chosen as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Rodriguez recorded 29 digs to average 4.14 digs per set in St. Olaf's wins over Gustavus and Augsburg last week to close out the spring season. The sophomore made 16 digs and added two aces and two assists in Wednesday's four-set victory at Augsburg after totaling 13 digs and two aces in Monday's home sweep of Gustavus.
In five matches this spring, Rodriguez reached double figures in digs four times and finished ninth in the MIAC in digs per set (4.06).
St. Olaf finished its abbreviated spring season with a 4-1 mark, including wins in each of its final three matches.
