NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College men's and women's swimming and diving teams split their Senior Day Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) duals against crosstown-rival Carleton College on Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Natatorium.
The St. Olaf women won 12-of-16 events on their way to a 160-140 victory over the Knights, while Carleton picked up a 179-109 win on the men's side.
Tim Rizzo won three events for the Ole men, while
Izzy Treanor,
Charlotte Thomson,
Maya Knutson,
Sophia Nevin, and
Annika Cleven all won multiple events for the women.
Prior to the meet both teams celebrated their senior classes, as St. Olaf recognized its 10 seniors:

Harris Kramer,
Shannon Cucchiaro,
Martha Dix,
Nicole Flint,
Leah Granstrom,
Maya Knutson,
Sophia Nevin, and
Victoria Wallace.
Knutson swam to event victories in the 100-yard freestyle (54.57), 200-yard freestyle (1:58.84), and 200-yard individual medley (2:14.94) to lead the way for the Ole women. Thomson claimed wins in the 500-yard freestyle (5:28.39) and 1,000-yard freestyle (11:08.08) and was one of four Oles to win two events, along with Treanor, Nevin, and Cleven.
Treanor posted the top scores in both sessions of the one-meter diving with scores of 172.55 and 266.50. Those two scores are both the highest in the MIAC for a five-dive and six-dive session this season.
Nevin was the first to touch in both breaststroke events, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.88 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:28.07. Cleven won both of the butterfly events with times of 1:00.26 and 2:15.83, while
Ellen Varley added an event win in the 50-yard freestyle (25.90).
Rizzo accounted for three of St. Olaf's five event victories on the men's side, posting first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.45), 500-yard freestyle (4:48.55), and 200-yard individual medley (2:01.27). The junior won the 200 free by just 0.17 seconds ahead of Carleton's Josh Wu, while finishing nearly 29 seconds ahead of the field in the 500 free.
The Oles also won both sessions of the one-meter diving, as
Oscar Hanifl claimed the first session (166.20) and
Harris Kramer posted the top score in the second (258.55). Kramer's score ranks second in the MIAC this season for a six-dive session, while Hanifl's is second in a five-dive session.
In its final tune-up for the MIAC Championships, St. Olaf heads to the University of Minnesota Challenge on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5 in Minneapolis.
