Austin Williams all earned spots on the Academic All-District ® Team. Along the with rest of the Academic All-District ® honorees, the six Oles advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ® ballot.
The College Sports Communicators – formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) – revamped the Academic All-District ® and Academic All-America ® program this year. All nominated student-athletes were named to the Academic All-District ® Teams, eliminating the voting process that was used previously, and the minimum cumulative grade-point average was raised from 3.30 to 3.50. In order to be nominated, student-athletes must also be a starter or important reserve and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
Williams was recognized for the second-straight season after becoming the first student-athlete in program history to earn Academic All-District ® honors last season.
First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America ® honorees will be announced in early December.
