Women's basketball tips off 2022-23 on Friday in Chicago

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's basketball team tips off its 25-game 2022-23 regular-season schedule on Friday evening in its third season under head coach Kelly Mahlum.

St. Olaf's 2022-23 schedule includes 12 home games at Bob Gelle Court at Skoglund Center and is made up of 22 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) contests plus three non-conference matchups. The Oles begin their season by traveling to Chicago, Ill. for the North Park Tip-Off Tournament, where the team will face two first-time opponents.

Mahlum's team takes to the court for the first time against Alma College on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. on the campus of North Park University before taking on host North Park the following day at 4 p.m. Both teams are coming off 15-win seasons a year ago.

After returning home from The Windy City, St. Olaf hosts the University of Minnesota Morris for its home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. in just the second meeting between the two programs since 1984-85. The Oles remain home three days later to open MIAC play against the College of Saint Benedict at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 for the team's 50 Years of Title IX Game.

St. Olaf hits the road for three-straight games – its longest road swing of the season – with trips to Concordia-Moorhead (Nov. 22), Saint Mary's University (Nov. 30), and Hamline University (Dec. 3) before returning home for matchups with Gustavus Adolphus College (Dec. 7) and St. Catherine University (Dec. 10) to close out the calendar year.

The Oles wrap up the first round of the double round robin schedule in 2023 by visiting Macalester College (Jan. 4), Bethel University (Jan. 7), and Augsburg University (Jan. 14) and hosting crosstown-rival Carleton College (Jan. 11) and the College of St. Scholastica (Jan. 16). In the second half of the conference schedule, St. Olaf plays four-straight home games from Feb. 1-11 before closing out the regular season with back-to-back road games.

The 2023 MIAC Women's Basketball Playoffs are scheduled to run from Tuesday, Feb. 21 through Saturday, Feb. 25. The Oles are coming off a season that saw them win their first-ever game in the MIAC Playoffs with a first-round victory over Saint Mary's before falling to top-seeded Augsburg in the quarterfinals.
