BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Senior Will Kelly of the nationally-ranked St. Olaf College men's cross country team picked up his second consecutive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Kelly was honored by the conference for the second week in a row after finishing as the runner-up at the Blugold Invitational on Friday. The senior is the first St. Olaf student-athlete to collect MIAC Athlete of the Week honors in men's cross country in consecutive weeks since at least 2005 (extent of award's archives).

On Friday, Kelly was the second-place finisher, trailing only UW-Whitewater's Christian Patzka, who was the national runner-up last season, with a time of 24:38.70 to lead the No. 13-ranked Oles to a second-place finish behind only the fourth-ranked Warhawks. The senior's time was just 7.7 seconds off the pace of Patzka and was the third-fastest 8K time of his career.

St. Olaf does not compete this weekend and is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 14 when the Oles split their team between the Jim Drews Invitational in West Salem, Wis. and the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Conn.
