BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Fifth-year senior Selena Rodriguez of the St. Olaf College volleyball team earned the eighth Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Athlete of the Week accolade of her career by being named the MIAC Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week on Monday.

Rodriguez was honored by the conference office for the second time this season after helped St. Olaf to a pair of wins over regionally-ranked teams this weekend. In addition to her two accolades this season, Rodriguez was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in the spring of 2021, once in the fall of 2021, and three times in the fall of 2022.

On Friday and Saturday, Rodriguez totaled 51 digs (6.38 per set), 14 assists (1.75 per set), and three aces (0.38 per set) as St. Olaf defeated Saint Ben's and No. 20-ranked UW-Stevens Point. The fifth-year senior had 23 digs, five assists, and two aces in Friday night's sweep of the Bennies to help the Oles lock up the No. 3 seed in the MIAC Playoffs. The next day, Rodriguez tallied 28 digs, nine assists, and one ace in a five-set win over the nationally-ranked Pointers.

St. Olaf hosts Concordia-Moorhead in the quarterfinals of the MIAC Playoffs on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
