NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's track and field team had five performances that landed on its all-time top-10 list at the Ole Open on Saturday at Manitou Track.
In its final meet before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, St. Olaf won eight events in addition to the five performances that fell on its all-time top-10 list. The meet was unscored and included limited fields in several events, with competitors from the College of St. Scholastica in addition to a few representatives from Carleton College, St. Catherine University, and Hamline University.
After the meet, St. Olaf recognized its seniors and their families inside Porter Hall due to inclement weather, which caused a lightning delay of over an hour near the tail end of the meet.
Junior
Karla Kroschel accounted for two first-place finishes and broke onto the program's top-10 list in both the 100-meter dash (12.76) and 200-meter dash (25.83) to lead the way for St. Olaf. The junior's time in the shorter event ranks tied for 10th in program history, while her time in the 200 is sixth as well as fourth in the MIAC this season.
Senior
Christine Albrecht won the 800-meter run in 2:14.65, which ranks third in the MIAC and seventh on St. Olaf's all-time list. Sophomore
Alison Bode led a group of Oles who usually compete in the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run with a first-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (14:47.81), while sophomore
Gracia Larsen-Schmidt placed first in the 3,000-meter run (10:53.90).
Senior
Julia Cordes led small fields in the pole vault (3.00m, 9' 10") and the long jump (4.85m, 15' 11"), while junior
