LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior defensive specialist/libero Morgan Ryan of the St. Olaf College volleyball team was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American, as announced on Wednesday.

After being named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Defensive Player of the Year, an All-MIAC honoree, and an AVCA First Team All-Region 9 selection earlier this month, Ryan added AVCA All-America honors to her resume following a standout junior season. Wednesday's announcement made Ryan the 14th St. Olaf student-athlete to earn the program's 22 All-America accolades.

This fall, Ryan played in all 29 of St. Olaf's matches, recording 646 digs (5.98 per set), 105 assists (0.97 per set), and 38 aces (0.35 per set). The junior led the MIAC and ranked in the top 20 nationally in both digs and digs per set. Ryan's marks of 5.98 digs per set and 646 digs currently rank 12th and 17th in the country at the NCAA Division III level.

Ryan's average of 5.98 digs per set broke the previous school record of 5.93 set by Kirstee Rotty '13 in 2012, while her 646 digs rank fifth in program history. Ryan had at least 10 digs in all 29 of St. Olaf's matches, including 16 matches with at least 20 and five with at least 30.
