PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The St. Olaf College women's track and field team was in action at the unscored UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday night and Saturday at UW-Platteville Track & Field Complex.
St. Olaf recorded 15 top-10 performances at the meet, which included several programs from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), among others. Fifth-year senior
Rebekah Salfer registered St. Olaf's top finish of the meet with a four-place result in the 100-meter hurdles (15.62) on Saturday.
Four Oles placed in the top 10 in the 1,500-meter run, led by junior
Sophie Abernethy's sixth-place performance in 4:50.10. Senior
Sophie Call placed seventh (4:53.08), followed by senior
Kristina Rohrer in eighth (4:57.79) and first year
Siri Erickson in ninth (5:01.31).
On Friday night, sophomore
Lauren Walda led a group of Oles in a highly-competitive 5,000-meter run by finishing 21st in 17:12.06, which ranks second in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), fifth on St. Olaf's all-time list, and 29th in NCAA Division III this season. Junior
Alison Bode was roughly 10 seconds back of Walda in 30th (17:22.79) to record the conference's fourth-fastest time this season. Senior
Bella Call also turned in a top-five time in the conference and a top-10 time in program history by clocking in in 33rd in 17:30.26, which is fifth in the MIAC and ninth on St. Olaf's list.

Julia Newman and junior
Linnea Askegaard both picked up sixth-place finishes, with Newman doing so in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:55.82) and Askegaard doing so in the pole vault (3.08m, 10' 1 ¼"). Askegaard's clearance saw her slide into 10th place on St. Olaf's all-time list.
Sophomore
Isabel Wyatt finished seventh in the 800-meter run (2:18.94), while senior
Karla Kroschel was eighth in the 400-meter dash (1:00.09).
Next weekend, St. Olaf will send a group of runners to compete in the 10,000-meter run at the Phil Esten Challenge at UW-La Crosse on Friday, April 19 before heading across town for the Carleton Relays on Saturday, April 20.
