Wyatt's 800 leads way for Oles at Joe Sweeney Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sophomore Isabel Wyatt turned in the No. 3 time on the St. Olaf College women's track and field team's all-time list in the 800-meter run to highlight the Oles' performances at the unscored Joe Sweeney Invitational on Wednesday at O'Shaughnessy Stadium.

Wyatt ran a personal-best time by over three seconds while finishing as the runner-up to an NCAA Division II competitor in 2:13.00 for one of three second-place finishes at the meet for St. Olaf. In addition to ranking third on the Oles' all-time list, the sophomore's time sits third in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and 31st in the country this season.

Junior Alison Bode recorded the other individual runner-up performance for St. Olaf, doing so in the 5,000-meter run in 17:17.03 to lead a trio of Oles in the top seven. Sophomore Lauren Walda was less than five seconds behind Bode in fourth (17:21.59), while senior Bella Call was seventh (17:40.16). St. Olaf's other second-place result came from junior Zoe Matre, senior Karla Kroschel, senior Ququ Holman, and senior Riki Poore in the 4x100-meter relay (50.04).

Wyatt also anchored St. Olaf's third-place 4x400-meter relay, which clocked in at 3:58.22 to break onto the program's all-time list in eighth place. The sophomore was joined by senior Ruth Pfeiffer, Kroschel, and junior Emma Storbakken in logging the MIAC's second-fastest time in the event this season.

First year Mara Larson, sophomore Ashlyn Jore, and senior Ainslee Parker all added top-five finishes in the jumps for the Oles. Larson tied for third in the high jump (1.53m, 5' ¼"), Jore was fourth in the long jump (5.31m, 17' 5 ¼") in her outdoor debut, and Parker took fifth in the triple jump (10.74m, 35' 3"). Jore's mark of 5.31 meters in the long jump was good for sixth on St. Olaf's all-time list.

Sophomore Grace Moeller also posted a top-five finish by placing fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:39.89).

First year Aubree Klein and fifth-year senior Rebekah Salfer will represent the Oles in the heptathlon to open the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday and Friday, May 2-3 at Carleton College's Laird Stadium. Events will begin at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
