EDINA, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's golf team will head to Braemar Golf Course for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Golf Championships held Saturday through Monday, Oct. 4-6.
Along with the nine other programs in the conference, St. Olaf will compete in the three-day, 54-hole MIAC Championships, which will begin on Saturday with tee times at 11 a.m. The first Ole off the tees will be at 12:40 p.m. on day one. Tee times for round two and three will begin at 11 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively, with pairings based on the previous day's scores.
Live scoring will be available throughout the championship. Spectators are welcome to attend the event and must follow all
local and
spectator rules. Per course directive, spectator carts are available to individuals with valid handicap stickers only.
Last season, St. Olaf placed seventh in the 10-team field, as the Oles look to build on that result with a lineup of sophomore
Anneliese Carlson, junior
Marit Lyle, junior
Ella Wright, first year
Annika Searles, and senior
Belle Mae Williams. In her rookie season, Carlson was St. Olaf's top finisher a year ago by placing 20th (247, "31).
Lyle will be competing in the MIAC Championships for the third season in a row after placing 33rd in 2023 and tied for 31st in 2024. Wright was 38th in her first appearance at the conference championship last season, while Williams has placed 45th (2022) and 38th (2023) in her prior two appearances.
Carlson has been St. Olaf's top performer to date this fall, averaging a team-best 79.9 strokes over her eight rounds, with a pair of top-20 finishes to her credit. Lyle has averaged 83.9 strokes per round, followed by Wright (85.9), Searles (86.8), and Williams (88.3).
The Oles will test themselves in a field that includes two nationally-ranked teams and three more who received votes in the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III Mizuno Top 25 Poll. St. Olaf has won the MIAC Championships on two occasions, doing so in back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012 while having the individual medalist in both of those seasons.
