NORTHFIELD/FARIBAULT, Minn. – The St. Olaf College women's golf team took fifth at the Northfield Open in its second-to-last tournament of the year on Saturday and Sunday at Willingers Golf Club and Legacy Golf.
St. Olaf placed fifth in the seven-team field with a 36-hole team score of 665 (+89) after posting rounds of 339 (+51) and 326 (+38). The Oles finished tied for third in the tournament in par-five scoring (+31) as a team.
Juniors
Marit Lyle and
Ella Wright were the top finishes for St. Olaf as part of a five-way tie for 16th (162, +18). Wright carded consecutive rounds of 81 (+9), while Lyle shot 83 (+11) and 79 (+7).
Sophomore
Anneliese Carlson was three shots behind Lyle and Wright in a tie for 22nd (165, +21) after rounds of 82 (+10) and 83 (+11). Carlson's opening round included a pair of birdies, which were the most by an Ole in either round.
St. Olaf will close out its season at the Carleton College Spring Finale on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3 at Hastings Golf Club and The Jewel Golf Club.
