Volleyball collects votes in AVCA national poll for third week in a row

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The St. Olaf College volleyball team received votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex Division III Women's Volleyball Poll for the third consecutive week in the poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

After extending its winning streak to nine matches with three victories last week, St. Olaf (13-6, 3-0 MIAC) collected six points in this week's balloting to remain in the "others receiving votes" section of the poll. The Oles' nine-match winning streak is the program's longest since a string of nine consecutive victories from Sept. 8-22, 2018.

Of St. Olaf's six losses this season, four have come against teams ranked in the top 25 this week – No. 1 University of La Verne, No. 20 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, and No. 23 University of Dubuque (twice) – and one more came against a team receiving votes in the University of Northwestern.

This week, the Oles will travel to Hamline University for a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday, Oct. 8 before hosting No. 24-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
